Bookreporter Talks To… Jamie Fiore Higgins

Jamie Fiore Higgins talks to Carol Fitzgerald about BULLY MARKET: My Story of Money and Misogyny at Goldman Sachs. Jamie explains what drove her to join Goldman Sachs in the late ’90s and the obstacles she faced as she started her career. She shares details about the demands of the job and the cost of her success. As both her marriage and her mental health were tested, she made plans to leave the company, creating a “spreadsheet of freedom” to calculate the moment “she would have enough financial security to quit.” As she moved on from Goldman, she discusses how she worked to redefine herself — and what a challenge that was. They also talk about how the book has been resonating with book groups — and what they are reacting to.
